My name is Kristine Balaba, and I am temporarily the Children’s Ministries Administrator here at Southpointe Christian Center.
Southpointe is where I said the sinners’ prayer, at the young age of 5 years, and in 2009, makes 15 years saved. I have been baptized by immersion of water one year later of being saved. Shortly thereafter, I’d received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, approximately a few months later. Within these 15 years of being saved, I’ve experienced a spiritual growth in the power of the Holy Spirit, and it’s taking me above and beyond my dreams and visions.
At the age of 14, a sophomore in High School, at Laguna Creek High, I joined the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, Explorer Program. Where I learned the self discipline, of being an officer in training. Explorers in this program were basically deputies without weapons. We learn the same thing as officers do. At the age of 15, I transferred to Sacramento High School, where I met the Founder of the school, Sacramento High, Kevin Johnson, and I’ve worked temporarily at Alpine Alley Lanes. At 17, I began to volunteer my time to the replenishment of Oak Park, working alongside with Kevin Johnson and the St. Hope Foundation. My senior year in high school, I became the Senior Class President of one of the small schools within Sacramento High. School of Business and Communications. At the Age of 18, I then worked for The Sacramento Zoo- Kampala Café. Catering events and working the frontline of the café. Also, at 18, I began to help out my parents with the development and organization of Southpointe Christian Centers’, Children’s Ministries, while beginning the membership of the Music Ministry here at Southpointe. I joined the choir and six weeks later, joined the frontline team as a singer. Two and a half years later I am still involved with the Music Ministry here at Southpointe, helping out temporarily with the administration work for Children’s Ministry, have taught the Stars class in the Girls’ Ministry, and am now starting the beginning stages of a new ministry. The Young Adult Ministry. I am currently enrolled in Global University, School of the Bible, getting ready to receive my Certificate of Ministry from the Northern California- Nevada District, Assemblies of God.
At the young age of 20, I’m just excited to see where God is taking me. Though I have many responsibilities, my first responsibility is my relationship with my Lord and Savior and my family. Learning and seeing how my parents invest in their marriage and relationship between themselves and God, will someday come into play for me. I thank God for helping along the way to live and remain in a clean and pure life in him. In today’s society it’s hard, but, only with discipline and respect for myself and others, with the help of my Heavenly Father, has it been possible.
